Solid English Elm Market Stick Handle Blank
English Elm wood is a strong and durable hardwood known for its unique grain patterns and resistance to moisture. It's often sought after for furniture, flooring, and decorative uses due to its character and beauty. Elm is also considered a soft hardwood and is highly workable, making it a favorite among woodworkers. All wood used is UK sourced and UK grown.
All wood kiln, air dried or recycled. I cut the blanks in batches. I look for grain and interesting patina.
Product Description
A crafted handle blank made from natural wood enabling the buyer to finish. Each handle is finished 'over sized' to allow for waste material to be removed and attach to a shank up to an inch and a quarter in thickness.
How to use
Simple tools and a bit of work will soon have your handle ready to fit to a suitable shank.
I recommend and use a traditional peg and socket joint. I do not recommend or use threaded rods. Wood is a natural material and should be allowed to move and flex. Using a threaded rod does not allow natural movement of the wood therefore is liable to cause breakout.
